As Monivent approaches a new commercial phase, the Board of Directors has appointed Tobias Tullberg as the company’s new CEO. He will assume the role on January 4, 2027. Current CEO and co-founder Maria Lindqvist will remain with Monivent in a new role with a particular focus on product development and clinical collaborations.

Monivent recently announced further progress towards MDR approval, which will pave the way for the European launch of Neo100 in partnership with Dräger. With the company moving from a predominantly development and regulatory phase towards commercialization and international growth, the Board has decided to strengthen Monivent’s leadership with additional experience in commercializing and scaling medtech businesses.

Tobias Tullberg will assume the role of CEO of Monivent on January 4, 2027. Tobias brings nearly 30 years of experience from the medtech industry, including senior leadership positions spanning product development, quality and regulatory affairs, commercialization and international market expansion.

He joins Monivent from AprioMed AB, where he served as CEO from 2011 and led the company through a period of significant growth and international expansion, culminating in its acquisition by IZI Medical.

John Haurum, Chairman of Monivent, comments:
“Monivent is approaching an important inflection point. Maria has done an outstanding job leading the company through the development of Neo100 and towards MDR approval, while building the foundation for our partnership with Dräger. As we now prepare for commercialization in Europe and the next stage of Monivent’s international development, we believe Tobias’ extensive medtech and commercial experience is an excellent fit for the company.

At the same time, I am very pleased that we will continue to benefit from Maria’s deep knowledge of neonatal resuscitation, our technology and the needs of clinicians. In her new role, she will be able to devote more of her time to further developing our products and clinical collaborations and to identifying new opportunities for Monivent’s technology.”

Maria Lindqvist, who co-founded Monivent and has served as CEO since 2024, will transition to her new role when Tobias assumes the position as CEO. Her primary focus will be the continued development of Monivent’s products and technology, together with clinical collaborations and selected business development activities.

Maria Lindqvist comments:
“After many years of taking Monivent and Neo100 from an idea towards a commercial product, I am very pleased that we are now reaching this next stage. Tobias brings experience that will be highly valuable as we prepare to bring Neo100 to a broader market. I look forward to continuing my work at Monivent with an increased focus on the areas closest to the origins of the company: Our technology, products and collaboration with clinicians.”

Tobias Tullberg comments:
“Monivent has developed a highly innovative technology addressing an important clinical need, and the company is now at a particularly exciting stage. I am very much looking forward to working with Maria, the team, the Board and our partners to successfully commercialize Neo100 and build Monivent into an international medtech company.”

Monivent AB (”Monivent”) develops, manufactures and sells medical devices in order to improve the emergency care provided to newborns in need of respiratory support at birth. About three to six percent of all newborns end up in this critical situation and healthcare professionals today lack good tools to determine how effective this manual ventilation is. Monivent has developed equipment that measure the airflow to the child directly in the face mask via a sensor module that sends data wirelessly to an external monitor. The caregiver thereby receives immediate feedback, which enables necessary adjustments to support an effective but at the same time gentle treatment. The company is also marketing a product for simulation-based training on manikins, building on the same technology as the clinical product.
